Lisa Zingaro currently serves as Director Audit & Compliance at Stewardship Ontario, a private, industry funded, not-for-profit organization that manages Ontario's Blue Box (printed paper and packaging recycling) and Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste (processing) Programs. In this capacity her key responsibility has been to start a compliance department to ensure companies’ compliance with Ontario’s Waste Diversion Act of 2002 through their participation in the aforementioned programs. The Audit & Compliance team continues to build and improve its relatively young compliance program.
Prior to Stewardship Ontario, Lisa was employed by Siemens, an S&P 50 engineering company. As head of audit at Siemens Canada Limited and the auditor in charge of providing audit services to a number of Siemens operating companies in the United States, she acted as a key resource for CEOs and CFOs, particularly with respect to internal controls, compliance with internal and external regulations, financial and operational audit, risk management systems, and disaster recovery and business continuity. Also, Lisa participated extensively in audit committees by preparing their agendas and presenting and discussing agenda items with committee members at audit committee meetings.
In addition, Lisa has work experience in controlling, financial planning, consulting and teaching.
