Audit Committee Certified Graduates

Congratulations to the graduates of The Directors College* Audit Committee Program. These graduates have successfully completed the Audit Committee Program and rigorous individual exam, to be granted the privilege to use the official mark Audit Committee Certified (A.C.C.)

The Audit Committee Program was developed in partnership with, and delivered by faculty from, Deloitte Touche, McCarthy Tetrault, and Financial Executives International Canada along with experienced Audit Committee Chairs and behavioral experts.

Ms. Leslie Markow, C.Dir., A.C.C.
Chief Financial Officer, Bionik Laboratories Corp.

Leslie Markow is CFO of Bionik Laboratories Corp. who she took public in the US in 2015 and acquired a Boston based robotics firm in 2016. Bionik is developing the next generation of robots to support the rehabilitation of stroke patients and to assist paraplegic patients. Leslie is also Director and Audit Committee Chair of Jemtec Inc. a TSX-V company that provides electronic monitoring equipment and software (“home arrest”) to federal and provincial corrections and justice departments and to private bail clients. Leslie is a faculty member of the Directors College and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and Financial Executives International Canada (FEIC). Leslie was previously a National Director of FEC who represents 1,500 senior financial executives across Canada and is a past Director and past President of FEIC’s Toronto Chapter. The FEIC’s Toronto Leadership Award was presented to Leslie in 2010.
Leslie was formerly Managing Director Canada of TMF Group, a global outsourcing firm, CFO of Stewardship Ontario who helps manage the Blue Box and operate the Orange Drop Program funded by Industry in Ontario. As a former CFO of Solutions4CO2 Inc., a member of CleanTech North, she helped with a successful IPO on the TSX-V in 2012, and was a consultant to Hydrogenics, a Nasdaq/TSX listed firm. In addition, Leslie was a Client Service Director at Resources Global Professionals, a provider of interim and project professionals, and was CAO and CFO of SunOpta Inc., a Nasdaq/TSX listed company that principally manufactures and distributes organic products. During Leslie’s tenure as CFO of SunOpta she helped acquire and integrate 8 companies, which led SunOpta Inc. onto Profit Magazine’s fastest growing companies list for 5 successive years.
After graduating with a BA from Western University in London, Ontario, Leslie obtained the CPA, CA designation with PWC and later obtained the US CPA accreditation and holds accreditation in Illinois. Leslie completed 2 programs at the Directors College and holds the A.C.C. and C. Dir. designations.
