Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Doug Matthies, C.Dir.
Doug Matthies has served as the President of SaskWater since July 1, 2010. Prior to joining SaskWater, Doug served in several senior capacities in the provincial government including the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, the General Manager of the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and the General Manager of the Saskatchewan Pension Plan.
His experience in government spans several areas including strategic planning, policy analysis and development, financial management, program operations, public accountability, legislative and regulatory processes, and stakeholder consultations and relations. Prior to joining government in 1987, Doug worked in the private sector accounting firm of Clarkson and Gordon and later the firm Arscott Hill & Matonovitch.
Doug has served on several boards over the course of his career including organizations in the fields of international trade, agricultural research, transportation, and financial institutions. He has also been a member of various federal-provincial working groups, inter-ministry working groups and various community groups.
Doug is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Administration (Distinction) from the University of Regina.
