Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Pierre Côté, C.Dir.
General Secretary, Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation
Pierre Côté has had a twenty year career in education. Pierre earned his Ph.D. in clinical Psychology from the University of Ottawa. He started his career as a school psychologist in the Ottawa area where he was also a sessional lecturer in the Masters of Counselling program at Saint-Paul University.
In 1997, he came to work at OSSTF Provincial Office as an Executive Assistant. As Editor of Education Forum, the flagship magazine of OSSTF, he ensured that editorial policy focussed on social, labour, educational and environmental issues. In 2004, he was promoted to the position of Director of Communications and Political Action; in 2007, to the position of Associate General Secretary and in 2010 to the position of General Secretary.
He has served on many OTF and Ministry of Education working tables including the Special Education Advisory Panel, the Student Success Commission, the Groupe de Travail Permanent Francophone, the Early Learning Implementation Advisory Group, the Media Violence Coalition, the Ontario Teachers' Federation Executive and Board of Governors and the Education Partnership Table, among others.
In his spare time, he volunteered on his children's school council which he also chaired for two years. Throughout his career, he has collaborated and worked in partnership across many policy, practice and linguistic communities to advance the cause of public education and labour issues.
