Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Jurgen Dirks, C.Dir.

Jurgen Dirks joined Canada Lands Company (CLC) as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in February 2012. Jurgen has extensive experience in the Real Estate and Land Development sector having been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mattamy Homes, Canada’s largest developer of residential communities and builder of single family homes with operations in three Canadian and five US cities.
In addition to his role as Chief Financial Officer, Jurgen also led the Mattamy’s manufacturing operations and is named in several patents related to the manufacture of entire homes within a factory. During his six year tenure at Mattamy, he executed the largest US capital markets financing ever by a privately owned Canadian based home builder. He also had responsibility for the management and orderly divestiture of the company’s commercial real estate assets.
Jurgen began his professional career when recruited into General Electric’s Financial Management Program where he went on to hold several progressively senior positions. He later joined The Lawson Mardon Group (LMG), just prior to the execution of the largest MBO in Canadian history. During his tenure at LMG, Jurgen held Senior Financial Management positions, participated in several acquisitions and divestitures and served as Secretary to the Audit Committee of the Board.
Senior Operations roles at The Transcontinental Group, Canada’s largest commercial printer, provided Jurgen with the opportunity to execute several acquisitions and business turnarounds. The challenge of a potential IPO led Jurgen to join Polytainers Inc., a manufacturer of plastic packaging with 1000 employees in Canada and the US, where he served as Chief Financial Officer, a member of the Advisory Board and leader of the Company’s US operations. Jurgen continues to serve on the Advisory Board of McKenna Logistics Centres, a privately held warehousing and Distribution Company based in Toronto and Vancouver.
