Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Philip Moore, C.Dir.
Retired Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Toronto-Dominion Bank (former)
Phil Moore, C.Dir., retired as Senior Vice-President, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of TD Bank Group in 2017. In that role, Phil supported the board and committees of TD Bank Group in their activities as they discharge their various duties; he also led the Canadian legal department of TD.
Phil joined TD in May 2013, prior to which, he was a Senior Partner in the Business Law Group of McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Toronto, where he advised clients on a broad range of corporate and securities matters. He acted on mergers and acquisitions, Canadian and cross-border securities offerings and corporate reorganizations, as well as providing on-going advice to various public and private corporations. During his legal career, Phil has acted as counsel to independent committees of boards of directors and was retained as the independent chair of contested shareholders meetings.
Phil is a member of the board of directors of Neenah Paper Inc., an Atlanta-based fine paper and technical products company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Phil chaired the Compensation Committee of that board for ten years and is currently a member of both its Audit Committee and its Nominating and Governance Committee. Phil also Chairs the Advisory Board of the Pecaut Centre for Social Impact, based in Toronto.
Phil received his BA from McMaster University in 1978 and his LL.B. from Queen's University in 1981. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1983.
