Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Michael Lem, C.Dir., A.C.C.

Born and raised in Toronto - Ontario, Michael Lem received his Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto.
In 1995, Michael attained professional accounting status as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). In 2003, he was awarded a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA).
Michael's financial planning qualifications include having earned the internationally recognized Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the Financial Planning Standards Council of Canada.
On the securities side, Mr. Lem holds his Canadian Securities, Conduct and Practices and Options Licenses. Michael has also successfully completed his Branch Managers Course, Options Supervisors Course and Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course (PDO) and all relevant qualifying exams through the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).
In terms of insurance qualifications, Michael has both his Life Insurance and Accidents & Sickness Insurance Licenses (Level II).
Mr. Lem teaches and writes articles on investment strategies, and life, financial, retirement and estate planning. He has been a columnist for the York Business News, the Voice of the Farmer and has been a regular contributor to the Toronto Sun. Mr. Lem is a recognized expert in the areas of Financial Planning and Life Planning, and lectures extensively in Canada and around the world on these topics.
Mr. Lem is the past President of the Erindale College Alumni Association, University of Toronto at Mississauga. In September 2006, Michael was awarded the University of Toronto Arbor Award for outstanding voluntary service.
